CARDIFF BAY BARRAGE

A competition entry with Alsop and Störmer to develop a strategy for the proposed Cardiff Bay barrage which created a large freshwater lake to act as a generator for inward investment to the run-down Cardiff Docklands area. The creation of the barrage presented a unique opportunity to design a garden sequence along its banks which reflected the various edge conditions of the sea using planting suited to the tough maritime conditions.
