CHIVA-SOM SPA – TORRES NOVAS, PORTUGAL

The master planning for Chiva-Som International’s first European venture, located outside the town of Torres Novas, 80km to the north of Lisbon. The 70 hectare site is part of an historic estate with a traditional Castello, fine original gardens and parterres, set in land with agricultural and ecological importance that has protected status.

A series of gardens are planned to augment the formality of the original grounds. The additional land will be used for a variety of holistic activities to complement those of the spa.

A natural swimming pond (which eliminates the need for chemicals and constant cleaning), flower gardens and the growing of organic vegetables and fruit will be included. The spa re-cycles water, grey water and waste through a ‘living’ machine located on the site.
