JODRELL BANK VISITOR CENTRE AND ARBORETUM
A competition entry with Alsop and Störmer. A park designed for moonlight for the Jodrell Bank Telescope Visitor Centre runs under and around the raised curving timber form of the building.
Rippling and undulating bleached grasses were counterpoised with grass hollows and a series of blue pools and pavilions. Existing pools were retained as habitats for wildlife and to act as balancing ponds for outfall drainage of the car park.
