ONE CENTAUR STREET

Our design for the front and rear gardens of this modern contemporary house squeezed into a tough site next to a Eurostar railway viaduct, in South London. One Centaur Street, designed by deRijke Marsh Morgan, took the overall prize in competition with eighteen other award-winning buildings to take the London Building of the Year Award 2003.

Simon Hughes MP said on behalf of the jury,
“This is a project that pushes at the edges of architecture both materially and spatially. It addresses the very difficult issues of location and site neighbours and is a whole new approach to housing”.
