PRIESTLANDS SECONDARY SCHOOL

The school campus for nursery, primary and secondary schools and recreation centre is set within a historic park and landscape at Pennington, near Lymington in Hampshire. The Heritage Lottery funded a study into landscape and education. The ‘Heritage and Young Peoples’ Project’ was a pilot scheme to encourage young people to explore the historical, natural and cultural heritage of their school site. The conservation study will be a model for schools and is intended to establish guidelines for national replication. Created at the outset for use by the school community, the report is a learning resource, both in its literature and as a published CD, with sections included on the school’s website.
