QUEEN MARY COLLEGE – HUMANITIES BUILDING
UNIVERSITY OF LONDON
The landscape for the New Humanities Building is designed to complement the elegance of the build form whilst providing a delightful environment to be in. It uses repetition of colour and materials with subtle contrast.
Planting of tall grasses provides movement and lightness. A new entrance square paved in natural stone creates a setting for the building and the adjacent consecrated ground, formally part of the Portuguese and Jewish cemetery. A listed brick wall is repaired and integrated in the overall design.
