Putney High Street, London

The proposed retail and residential scheme is located on Putney High Street and is a regeneration example of high street architecture and uses with people living above new, flexible retail space. The new public realm wraps around the siteto the streets on three sides which open on to a new public square in the side street. This leads to new retail off the square and entranceto the residential, both private and fair rent. The public square is a social space for relaxing, window shopping and dining with a landmark tree proposed to add scale and interest.  The square opens on to the new mews on the fourth side which is a shared surface for pedestrians and service access.  The entrance to the apartments is via a communal space which opens on to a first floor roof garden, with pools, trees and planting. Roof gardens at higher levels provide a play space and wildlife gardens which introduce biodiversity into a primarily urban area.
