Leamouth Riverside - London

We developed a strategy for pedestrian and cycle access routes along the river Lea as part of an exciting physical regeneration framework for the Leamouth Peninsula. It links with a competition winning bridge between the boroughs of Newham and Tower Hamlets in East London. The riverside path is designed ecologically to achieve on-site drainage to promote the development of wildlife corridors and retain the integrity of the riverbank. Ruderal habitats are restored along the river’s edge. The erection of a green wall has been negotiated with Crossrail to replace hoarding in their adjacent site which will house a ventilation shaft.

A cohesive strategy promoting a new mixed-use urban quarter brings together previously disconnected areas and links them to adjacent transport hubs.
